The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released a notification (Advertisement Number A-7/E-1/2025) for the recruitment of 1253 Assistant Professors in various Government Degree Colleges across Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: A Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university. Candidates must also have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC (SLET/SET). Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016, are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.
Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025): The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 40 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories and other eligible groups as per government rules.
Application Fee
The application fee can be paid online.
General/OBC/EWS: ₹125 (₹100 Exam Fee + ₹25 Online Processing Fee)
SC/ST: ₹65 (₹40 Exam Fee + ₹25 Online Processing Fee)
Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹25 (Nil Exam Fee + ₹25 Online Processing Fee)
Ex-Servicemen: ₹65 (₹40 Exam Fee + ₹25 Online Processing Fee)
Selection Process
The selection process for the UPPSC Assistant Professor position includes two stages:
Written Examination: This is a written exam that carries 75% weightage in the final selection. The exam pattern consists of two parts:
Part A: General Knowledge (20 questions, 20 marks)
Part B: Concerned Subject (40 questions, 40 marks)
The exam is 90 minutes long with a total of 120 questions for 120 marks. There may be negative marking as per the official notification.
Interview: The interview carries 25% weightage in the final selection.

One Time Registration (OTR): This is a mandatory first step. Candidates must register on the official UPPSC website to get a unique OTR number.
Log in: Use the OTR number to log in to the application portal.
Fill the Application Form: Fill in all personal, educational, and professional details.
Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of a recent photograph, signature, and other required documents.
Pay the Fee: Pay the application fee online.
Final Submission: Review all the details and submit the form.
Print Confirmation Page: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
