2. Application Fee Structure
The application fee is non-refundable and can only be paid through online modes (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI).

3. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Master's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off).
A minimum of 50% marks (without rounding off) is required for candidates belonging to OBC–NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender categories.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year/semester of their Master’s degree or whose result is still awaited may also apply provisionally.
Age Limit (As of a specified date, usually the first day of the exam month/year)
For Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum age of 30 years. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, and women candidates.
4. How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)
Candidates must apply Online only through the official NTA UGC NET website.
Visit the Official Website: Go to
https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/.New Registration: Click on the link for "New Registration" and enter your personal details, contact information (valid email ID and mobile number), and create a password. A system-generated Application Number will be created. Save this number.
Fill the Application Form: Log in using the Application Number and Password. Fill in the detailed application form with personal, academic (Master's degree details, chosen subject), and exam city preferences.
Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size. Upload the PwD certificate, if applicable.
Pay Application Fee: Pay the required fee online using the available payment gateway.
Download Confirmation Page: After successful payment and submission, download and print the Confirmation Page for future reference.
5. Exam Pattern
The UGC NET is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of two papers without any break.
