Important Dates (Intake 02/2026):

  • Online Application Start Date: July 11, 2025

  • Last Date for Online Application: July 31, 2025 (11:00 PM IST)

  • Exam Date: From September 25, 2025 onwards

  • Admit Card Availability: 24-48 hours before the exam date

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Male Indian/Gorkha (a subject of Nepal) citizens.

  • Marital Status:

    • For 10+2 Candidates: Unmarried.

    • For Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates: Both unmarried and married candidates are eligible, with specific age limits.

  • Age Limit (as of date of enrolment):

    • For 10+2 Candidates: Unmarried candidates should be born between July 02, 2005, and July 02, 2009 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit at the time of enrolment should be 21 years.

    • For Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy Candidates:

      • Unmarried candidates should be born between July 02, 2002, and July 02, 2007 (both dates inclusive).

      • Married candidates should be born between July 02, 2002, and July 02, 2005 (both dates inclusive).

      • The upper age limit at the time of enrolment should be 24 years.

  • Educational Qualification:

    • For Candidates with 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent Examination:

      • Must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, or UT.

      • Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

      • OR

      • Passed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

    • For Candidates with Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy:

      • Must have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

      • In addition, must possess a Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.1

      • A valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is mandatory at the time of enrolmen2t.

  • Medical Standards:

    • Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.

    • Chest: Minimum chest circumference of 77 cm with a minimum expansion of 05 cm.

    • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

    • Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.

    • Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

    • Visual Standards: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/9 each eye; Maximum limits of Refractive Error Not exceeding ±3.50D including Astigmatism.

    • Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are generally not permitted as per IAF policy.

Application Fee:

  • Rs. 550/- + GST

Selection Process:

The selection process for IAF Airmen Group Y Medical Assistant typically involves multiple phases:

  • Phase I: Online Written Test (Computer Based Test - CBT)

    • Duration: 45 minutes

    • Subjects:

      • English (20 questions)

      • Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions)

    • Total Questions: 50

    • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer, -0.25 for each incorrect answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.

    • The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi) except for the English section.

  • Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Tests

    • Candidates shortlisted from Phase I will be called for Phase II.

    • Document Verification: All original documents will be verified.

    • Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

      • 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes (for candidates up to 21 years of age) and 7 minutes 30 seconds (for candidates above 21 years of age and holding Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy).

      • 10 Push-ups within 1 minute.

      • 10 Sit-ups within 1 minute.

      • 20 Squats within 1 minute.

      • Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants.

    • Adaptability Test - I & II: To assess suitability for the IAF environment and military way of life.

  • Phase III: Medical Examination

    • Candidates who clear Phase II will undergo a detailed medical examination by an Air Force Medical Team.

    • This includes tests like Blood Haemogram, Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Creatinine, LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT), X-Ray Chest (PA view), ECG (R), and any other tests deemed necessary.

Pay Scale & Benefits:

  • During Training: A stipend of ₹14,600/- per month.

  • Upon Completion of Training: Starting gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale of pay, including Military Service Pay (MSP), will be ₹26,900/- per month.

  • In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances (as applicable) will be paid, which may rise as per career progression.
