Important Dates:

  • Online Application Start Date: July 11, 2025

  • Admit Card Availability: 24-48 hours before the exam date

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Indian citizens (male and female).

  • Marital Status: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17.5 years and 21 years of age at the time of enrolment. Specifically, candidates must be born between July 02, 2005, and January 02, 2009 (both dates inclusive).

  • Educational Qualification:

    • For Science Subjects:

      • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, or UT.

      • Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

      • OR

      • Passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Central, State, or UT recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).

      • OR

      • Passed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

    • For Other Than Science Subjects:

      • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT.

      • Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

      • OR

      • Passed a two-year Vocational Course from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Courses (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

  • Medical Standards:

    • Height:

      • Male: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm.

      • Female: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm. (Relaxation for candidates from North East/Hilly areas: 147 cm; Lakshadweep: 150 cm)

    • Chest:

      • Male: Minimum chest circumference of 77 cm with a minimum expansion of 05 cm.

      • Female: Well-proportioned chest with a minimum expansion of 05 cm.

    • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

    • Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.

    • Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

    • Visual Standards:

      • Visual Acuity: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye.

      • Maximum limits of Refractive Error: Hypermetropia: +2.0D, Myopia: 1D, Including ±0.50D Astigmatism.

      • Colour Vision: CP-II.

    • Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are generally not permitted as per IAF policy, with exceptions for tribal candidates as per specific regulations.

Application Fee:

  • Rs. 550/- + GST for all categories (General/OBC/EWS/SC/ST).

  • Payment can be made online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, IMPS, Cash Card / Mobile Wallet.

Selection Process:

The selection process is multi-stage and candidates must clear each stage to proceed:

  • Phase I: Online Written Test (Computer Based Test - CBT)

    • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer, -0.25 for each incorrect answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.

    • The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi) except for the English section.

    • Exam Pattern:

      • For Science Subjects:

        • Duration: 60 minutes

        • Subjects: English (20 questions), Physics (25 questions), Mathematics (25 questions)

        • Total Questions: 70

      • For Other Than Science Subjects:

        • Duration: 45 minutes

        • Subjects: English (20 questions), Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions)

        • Total Questions: 50

      • For Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects (Combined):

        • Duration: 85 minutes

        • Subjects: English (20 questions), Physics (25 questions), Mathematics (25 questions), Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions)

        • Total Questions: 100

  • Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Tests

    • Candidates shortlisted from Phase I will be called for Phase II at designated Airmen Selection Centres.

    • Document Verification: All original documents will be verified.

    • Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

      • Male:

        • 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes.

        • 10 Push-ups within 1 minute.

        • 10 Sit-ups within 1 minute.

        • 20 Squats within 1 minute.

      • Female:

        • 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes.

        • 10 Sit-ups within 1 minute 30 seconds.

        • 15 Squats within 1 minute.

      • Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants.

    • Adaptability Test - I: To assess suitability for the IAF environment.

    • Adaptability Test - II: To assess suitability for deployment in various conditions and environments.

  • Phase III: Medical Examination

    • Candidates who clear Phase II will undergo a detailed medical examination at designated Medical Centres.

    • This includes comprehensive tests such as Blood Haemogram (Hb, TLC, DLC), Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine, LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT), X-Ray Chest (PA view), ECG (R), and any other tests deemed necessary by the Medical Officer.

  • Final Merit List: Based on performance in the online test and subject to medical fitness and meeting all other eligibility conditions, a Provisional Select List (PSL) and then a Final Enrolment List will be published.

Pay Scale & Benefits (Agniveer Scheme):

  • During 4-year tenure:

    • 1st Year: ₹30,000/- (in-hand ₹21,000/-)

    • 2nd Year: ₹33,000/- (in-hand ₹23,100/-)

    • 3rd Year: ₹36,500/- (in-hand ₹25,580/-)

    • 4th Year: ₹40,000/- (in-hand ₹28,000/-)

  • Seva Nidhi Package: Agniveers will contribute 30% of their monthly emoluments to the Seva Nidhi fund, with an equal matching contribution from the Government. Upon completion of four years, they will receive a "Seva Nidhi" package (approx. ₹11.71 Lakhs) which will be tax-exempt.

  • Life Insurance: Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs.

  • Death/Disability Compensation: Specific one-time compensation for death/disability attributable to service.

  • Leave: 30 days annual leave, Sick leave based on medical advice.

  • Post-Service Opportunities: Up to 25% of Agniveers may be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force based on merit, willingness, and organizational requirements.

How to Apply Online:

  1. Visit the Official IAF Agniveervayu Website: Go to agnipathvayu.cdac.in.

  2. New Registration: Click on "Candidate Login" and then "New User Register" if you are a first-time applicant.

  3. Fill Registration Details: Provide an active email ID and mobile number for registration. An OTP will be sent for verification.

  4. Login: After successful registration, log in using your registered email ID and password.

  5. Select Intake: Choose "Intake 02/2026" for the application.

  6. Fill Application Form: Carefully fill in all personal, educational, communication, and other required details as per your official documents (10th/12th mark sheets).

  7. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of the following:

    • Recent Passport-sized color photograph (taken not earlier than 3 months from the date of application, with a slate in front of the chest showing your name and date of photograph).

    • Candidate's Signature.

    • Left Hand Thumb Impression.

    • 10th Class Certificate/Marksheet.

  8. Select Exam City: Choose your preferred exam cities from the available options.
