Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025)
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 40 years
Age relaxation is provided to candidates from reserved categories of Rajasthan as per state government rules.
Educational Qualification
A Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
Candidates must have qualified the UGC NET/SLET/SET exam.
Ph.D. holders are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement as per UGC regulations.
Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and can be paid online.
General/OBC/EWS: ₹600
SC/ST/PwD: ₹400
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process involves a written examination and an interview.
Written Exam: The exam is for a total of 200 marks and consists of three papers.
Paper I: Subject-specific, 75 marks, 3-hour duration.
Paper II: Subject-specific, 75 marks, 3-hour duration.
Paper III: General Studies of Rajasthan, 50 marks, 2-hour duration.
Interview: Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for an interview, which is worth 24 marks. The final merit list is based on the combined scores of the written exam and the interview.
Salary and Pay Scale
The salary for the Assistant Professor post is governed by the 7th Pay Commission.
Pay Level: AL-10
Pay Scale: ₹15,600 - ₹39,100
Academic Grade Pay (AGP): ₹6000
The in-hand salary for newly appointed professors is a fixed amount during the probation period, after which they receive the full salary along with allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA).
